A few days ago I heard the LORD tell me clearly “Serve your wife!” So last night I prepared dinner for Julia before she came home from teaching her combat (kickboxing) class. When Julia came home, she was so thankful.

After watching Jackie Evanco sing on PBS (TV) for a while and cleaning up the kitchen, I went to my Sacred Place for my Sacred Time. I read John 18-21 and the introduction to Acts before going to bed exhausted and falling asleep immediately.

This morning Maui, our dog and God alarm clock, woke me up at 5:55 am. When I saw those numbers 5-5-5 on my alarm clock, I thanked Jesus because 5 in biblical numerology represents grace and 555 is the number for amazing grace.

After feeding Maui and letting her outside briefly, which is our daily routine, I came back to bed for a while. Maui got me up again at 6:25. I proceeded to get dressed and then took her for a long walk in our neighborhood on this beautiful morning with the sun rising.

When I got back home, I came to the computer in my home office to begin journaling. The first thing that came to my mind was “Jesus, thank You.” Then I was immediately prompted to do a YouTube search using this short prayer. And thus today’s inspirational message was birthed.

Randy, it’s not that you’ve necessarily been wrong in expressing what you are seeing. Rather, it’s that people don’t understand. Your open display of security in Me can be a turn-off to many people who don’t know Me well. Your overabundance of words keeps you from listening like I want. In your excitement, you fail to tune into what matters most of people, to prospects. Most people don’t care about you. They care about themselves and their own predicaments. Understanding that is crucial to your success in the marketplace.

Pr 4:5a Get wisdom! Get understanding!

Pr 2:1-11 My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding; Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you,

Randy, tomorrow you will have the chance to quickly apply what Brian showed you when you meet with Janet ________ with ________. Trust me, by being humble, by not being a know-it-all, you will see fruit. Then next week you have a second change to apply what you have learned when you and Jerry meet with Tim ________. Once again, you will experience success. You already know and have what it takes to succeed. It’s just that you don’t have to let people know that. They will realize you are an expert. Trust and obey. Rest in Me. It’s Me that opens doors that no man can close, not you. Be humble or you will stumble.

“And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him. and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.” (Acts 7:9)

What are some of the things you are most passionate about?

Joseph may well have been the greatest dreamer in the Bible. How did he withstand all the hardships, temptations, etc? God had given him a big dream when he was just 17 years old and he always clung to that. God has placed a big dream in your heart too, although chances are you don’t know what that is and even if you do, you’re not living it. I’d like to offer you the opportunity to live your dream. But it will require both a financial and time commitment.

At selected times over the last two weeks, Dr. Jerry Graham and I conducted a webinar entitled “UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs.” We’ve done the webinar four times now, as a means of promoting our upcoming 5-week, 35-day on-line course in journaling with a special emphasis on understanding your life purpose or destiny.

The course (Journaling 201 – UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny) is being offered twice each week, either Tuesdays at 8 pm EST or Wednesdays at Noon EST, for the next five weeks starting today and tomorrow. Teaching others to journal daily to hear God is the most significant thing I have ever done in my life. This particular course is one of only two such courses that Dr. Jerry Graham and I will be teaching together in a small LIFE group setting. Jerry is one of the top destiny coaches in the world. I am one of the top journalers.

How tragic to go through life and have to confess that we didn’t even know what that assignment was (or that we even had one). You’ve given us a lifetime of clues…help us to see that it’s not too late to uncover and begin to act upon that life call.

In what area of your life do you need to let go and let God?

Today’s message is a beautiful story of the power of prayer and trust.

When I was at the ProVision Network meeting this past week, Pastor Dan Stratton introduced Mike Barber, who might well be the Superbowl Champion of the world for prison ministry. Dan told us Mike frequently says “I am committed to helping those who are committed to helping me.” That is the basis of Faith Exchange, which is name of Pastor Dan’s church.

God has entrusted me with discipling three young people in their early 20′s who will soon be shaping the culture of the world. Jon Monroe, JJ Phillips, and Amy Pittman are part of my expanding web team. Each of them has been experiencing powerful breakthroughs in several areas of their lives as we work together Monday through Thursday. I am so humbled by the goodness and greatness of God in blessing me with this uncommon opportunity to sow into the lives of young people.

Each morning we spend 30-90 minutes of devotional time together to start our work day seeking God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first. At the close of this time, we each pray – for one another, for our families, for excellence in our work, and for our clients. Two weeks ago we talked about the importance of healthy weekly routines. I then asked Jon, JJ, and Amy to each lead one of the devotionals one day per week.

When leading a devotional, each person is responsible for reading some scriptures, sharing thoughts about those, and then asking at least one powerful question to the team. I’ve been deeply touched by how God is speaking to all of us through each person. After Jon shared his message on May 5, I realized that God is giving them messages to share with the world, not just our team. Therefore, I encouraged each of them to start their own blog (weB LOG) to get their messages out on the web.

Little did I know that Amy had been prompted by the Holy Spirit just a few days before to start her own blog. She had planned to ask me for help in getting that started. When Amy led our team devotional on May 7, I was so deeply by her authenticity that we set up her blog (Amy’s Place) that same day. The Holy Spirit prompted me to ask Amy to use her devotional message to write her very first blog post. She did and when I read that later in the evening, my eyes filled with tears.

Amy is just 20 years old, but she was the Virginia state champion in forensics while in high school. God has gifted her with an incredible ability to write and speak and now she finally has a way to share those gifts with the world through the web.

During yesterday’s devotional time, the Holy Spirit prompted me to speak a prophetic word over Amy that she will begin an international radio and TV ministry in 2008. Little did I know that 2 hours later, we would spontaneously shoot our first video of Amy and post that to Amy’s Place (her blog). Ben Stewart, one of the top Christ-centered business coaches in the world, taught me recently that there are 5 characteristics of a well-functioning team. At the foundation of these 5 is trust. Through our morning team devotionals and prayer times, God has developed tremendous trust within our team where we feel comfortable being real with one another.
