This morning I had my weekly breakthrough life coaching call with my son. It’s interesting how the Holy Spirit led us to spend the bulk of our time discussing emergency preparedness with the recent earthquake and looming Hurricane Irene. After I reminded my son that we may experience the most powerful earthquakes in history around Sept 26-27 when Planet X (Nibiru) passes between the earth and the sun, he asked me to send him the relevant links.

This coming Sunday (August 7, 2011), Soul Purpose Church is having an audition for the Worship Arts team. And, yes, I’m going to try out. I”m a passionate worshipper of the one true God – of Jesus. As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs for Him. And the one mandatory song for the audition is Heart of Worship. Jim Rohn was the master of the journal. “If you’re serious about becoming a wealthy, powerful, sophisticated, healthy, influential, cultured and unique individual—keep a journal. Don’t trust your memory. When you listen to something valuable, write it down,” Rohn said. As such, a journal can be many things to many people. Here are a few ideas for how to use a journal:

On January 1, 2011, I posted a message at Journal777 titled “#WFJ: Be faithful (committed) to this new habit.” In that I wrote: My key word for 2011 is COMMITMENT. My key scripture is “Let your ‘yes’ be ‘yes’ and your ‘no’ be ‘no’!” (James 5:12). My prayer for this new year is simple. Help me to honor (pray to) you morning, noon, and night each day like Daniel did. Help me to abide in You in a deep and rich way daily that I might bear much fruit for the Kingdom and Your glory. Well, how have I done with this so far in 2011 after 3 months. I’d give myself a “3″ and that might even be generous.

There are times in our lives when God strings together a most unusual set of circumstances to really get our attention to learn a critical life lesson, form a new habit, or change our life course. I call these ATTENTION GRABBERS. On June 9, 2008 I experienced an EXTRAORDINARY attention grabber. My meeting with Dr. Mark Virkler changed my life and life coarse forever. Mark is one of the leaders in the world teaching how to hear God’s voice.

Jesus, my prayer for this new year is simple. Help me to honor (pray to) you morning, noon, and night each day like Daniel did. Help me to abide in You in a deep and rich way daily that I might bear much fruit for the Kingdom and Your glory. Joseph, that is a wonderful prayer. That’s a great way to start off a new year. Be faithful (committed) to this new habit for the first 30 days (January) and that habit will become your routine. I have prepared you for an outstanding year in 2011.
