On the night of Sunday June 8, 2008 I went to bed around midnight and chose not to set my PDA alarm. I woke up around 6:25 AM the next morning (June 9) to use the bathroom and then lay in bed for about 10 minutes resting and reflecting before finally getting up. When I got up, I immediately came to my office, knelt down, and prayed. After that, I began journaling on my computer.

The first thing I was prompted to do was write a message titled “Are you seeking BREAKTHROUGHS in your life?” to send to my Your Daily Blessing followers in two days (on March 11). The key scripture I had chosen was Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”

Next, Holy Spirit prompted me to help Dr. Jerry Graham prepare a Daily Gram (e-blast) for him to send to his 800 or so followers on Wed June 11 about the introductory journaling webinars (“UNCOMMON Journaling for Breakthroughs”) we were promoting together. The purpose of those was to spark interest in the 5-week UNCOMMON Journaling For DESTINY online coaching program we were launching live on June 17 and 18.

When I accessed Jerry’s Constant Contact (email marketing) account to post the message I had prepared, I discovered to my surprise that Jerry had already prepared an outstanding message titled “Journaling as Communion with God” using the exact same scripture verse I had chosen – Habakkuk 2:2.

In his message (upcoming email), Jerry mentioned that the two of us were teaming up to do a 5-week, 35-day on-line course in journaling (UNCOMMON Journaling For Destiny) with a special emphasis on understanding your life purpose or destiny. He went on to say this was an exciting combination of two of the most significant learning experiences he had been blessed with in his life, namely journaling as a means of engaging in a two-way dialog with God, and coaching with a specific emphasis on the “discovery” of one’s life purpose and destiny.

Jerry went on to write, “Over 25 years ago, I was taught to journal as a means of hearing God’s voice by Dr. Mark Virkler, who has since become a good friend and ministry colleague. Mark developed a seminar that he continues to teach to this day around the world, called ‘Communion With God’.” I recommend you CLICK HERE to read Jerry’s entire email message. Jerry is one of the most experienced DESTINY coaches in the world.

Jerry’s email (that he hadn’t even sent out yet) prompted me to call Dr. Mark Virkler later that afternoon (June 9). This was the very first time I had ever spoken to or met Mark Virkler and what he shared was so inspiring. I discovered that Mark is one of the top teachers in the world about spiritual journaling. As I was showing Mark how I journal online and shared the amazing story about Habakkuk 2:2 from that morning, Mark told me Habakkuk 2:1-2 is the foundational scripture for his Communion With God Ministries.

Now that grabbed my attention. 3 times in one day the LORD brought the same scripture (Habakkuk 2:2) to my attention and from 3 different sources. So I was all ears as Mark shared his profound wisdom and insights with me. And Mark promptly followed up our conversation by sending two emails, including one titled “You Can Hear God’s Voice!”

Early the next morning (Tuesday June 10), I woke up with Holy Spirit’s instruction to immediately apply Mark’s “4 keys to hear God” and also design a new computer desktop image with those 4 keys. After typing my prayer with a 2-way dialog with God, I was astonished with the result – a deeper intimacy with the LORD.

It’s interesting to note that Holy Spirit had actually prompted Jerry to refer me to Mark two weeks earlier knowing we were soon launching our journaling course because he knew Mark well and that he was one of more experienced journalers in the world. However, as most of us frequently do, I failed to seize the opportunity at that time.

How many times have you missed GOLDEN OPPORTUNITIES because of failure to act in a timely fashion?

LORD, you want each of us to learn to hear Your voice because You love us and have specific instructions to give us each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things You want us to know and to do. You know what works and what doesn’t. You want to take each of us to an entirely new level of abiding in You. You want us to experience Your love like never before. You want us to know that You’re not just here beside us, but You’re here to answer questions that we have. You have been waiting. Teach each of us to hear Your voice by applying Mark Virkler’s 4 simple keys. Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Heavenly Father, here I go, writing out my spontaneous prayer early in the morning. I’m so excited to get back to what I’ve known for quite a while You want me to do. Forgive me for allowing all sorts of distractions to get in the way of this magnificent habit. Thank You for Your attention grabber yesterday with Habukkuk 2 and the UNCOMMON connection to Mark Virkler and his UNCOMMON message.

Thank You for waking me up early this morning knowing You wanted me to change my desktop background to include an image of Jesus, Mark Virkler’s 4 keys to hear from God, and Habukkuk 2:1-3. Thank You for each image of Jesus You led me to. Thank you Holy Spirit for using me as Your instrument to design the new image using Photoshop. I love it.

Jesus, I see You and hear You saying “You want to dine with me this morning and each day. You’re certainly welcome here in my home and wherever I go. I hear You saying “You want to start having two way conversations instead of one way ones. I hear You saying You’ve been waiting for this moment for so long.” I hear You saying “You’ve been knocking on the door of my heart – that You have the answers to the problems I’ve been facing and that the solutions are very simple. You have solutions to my financial difficulties.”

I hear you saying “Mark Virkler’s web page for Outstanding Links” is full of prospects and new contacts for you – people who have been waiting years to have God connect you to them.” I hear You saying, “Bless Mark – to open new vistas for him through social marketing.”

VISION: I see NEW HORIZONS OF OPPORTUNITIES opening for Mark as He steps into the Internet space age. I see Mark standing at the beach looking out at the ocean while a magnificent sunrise takes place. I see Mark fall to his knees and start to cry. This is what he has been waiting for. This is his MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. I see people – lots of people starting to run up and surround Mark on the beach. So many people coming. They’ve been waiting to meet Mark. They want to just be near him. They want to learn from him. O God, I’m overwhelmed with what You are showing me. I’m overwhelmed by the joy on so may people’s faces.

Now I see the people around Mark beginning to sit down. Mark is starting to speak to them like You did, Jesus, for Your sermon on the mount. Now the people are eating while they listen. This is one of the most beautiful picnic scenes I have ever seen. So many people. Now more are coming. People are hungry for Your Word. They want to hear from You Jesus. This is what they’ve been waiting for. Overwhelming. Joy. Delight. Free thought. Freedom.

Now I hear You saying Jesus that “You want me to take everyone who signs up for Jerry and my 5 week online journaling course to go through something similar – to learn to hear God by following Mark’s 4 keys.”

I’m so excited. Thank You Jesus for showing this to me.

I hear You saying “You are going to open Mark’s eyes to the new horizons that WEBINARS will open for him. Not just doors, not just gates, but horizons of opportunities. I hear You saying “COVENANT with Mark!!!” You have knit our hearts together. You have been patiently waiting for this moment – for this opportunity to advance the Kingdom of God through the combination of journaling, coaching, and the web.

Praise be to God. Hallelujah. I receive. I will send this prayer to Mark this morning as You are telling me.

Now I see myself lying down to rest. You’re telling me go back to bed. Lay down. You’ve been obedient. My glory is upon You. People will be attracted to You because You will have the “AROMA OF CHRIST.” What you offer will be irresistible to so many people. Rest now. Rest. Peace be with you. My peace. Thank You for dining with me. I’ve really enjoyed this. Now you get it. It’s so easy. I’ve been waiting to have Mark teach you. You will never be the same. Thank You for your obedience – your UNCOMMON obedience. Thank You for acknowledging Me everywhere You go.

Jesus, I hear You say, “Cut and paste a specific verse from Proverbs 3 here now.”

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Thank You for directing my paths. You’ve gotten me here. I’m Yours – all Yours. Dead to myself. Alive in You – only in You.

You can take one more step with your journaling…

Journaling is two lovers sharing love… speaking back and forth.

So you can write in the first person, as Jesus speaking directly to you and calling you by name. He will say, “my son, I want to you know…” so He is speaking in the first person to you… rather than the way you have it written… “I hear you saying that…”

It is just one more step of faith for you to take… not a hard thing… it will come naturally.

You really should read our books “how to hear God’s Voice” and Dialogue With God.” And perhaps order the CD’s also on How to Hear God’s voice.”

On June 18, 2008 the morning after the very first “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” class, I began the “daily” habit of applying Mark’s 4 keys to hear from God. Here is what Jesus told me in response to the Day #1 destiny question:

Day 1 Question
Lord, why do You want me to learn to hear Your voice?

Because I love You and I have specific instructions to give You each day – not vague thoughts, but specific things I want you to know and to do. Randy, I know what works and what doesn’t. I want to take you to an entirely new level of abiding in Me. I want you to experience My love like never before. I want You to know that I’m not just here beside You, but I’m here to answer questions that You have. I’ve been waiting.

All the things you’ve been praying and waiting for, I want to make happen. It was Me who put those desires in your heart. But first you had to learn to hear My voice. I know what order You are to do things, when You are to do things, what to do, and what not to do. I’m not a vague God. Just as you want your children to know clearly what you want them to do, so I want You to know clearly what I want You to to. I love You Randy. I want You to be married to Me, not just engaged. I can use you because You have a heart after my own heart. I’ve been preparing You. The time in NOW. Behold I do a new thing. My glory is upon You. My favor is upon You.

Jesus, I’m overwhelmed. This morning as I reflected back on yesterday, I realized all the breakthroughs that happened in just that one day. Then this morning, I have one of the most awesome days of my life. When Amy told me the Holy Spirit kept nudging her to pay for Beth Spangler, I was so grateful. Beth has been looking for and waiting for a friend like Amy for years. Thank You Jesus. Thank You.

Randy, this journaling course is more for you than it is for the participants. When I had Matt Gregory and Ben Stewart sign up as the first two people in the “UNCOMMON Journaling for Destiny” course, that was huge. You see, I’ve brought them into your life to be in covenant relationship with you for life. The greatest habit I have blessed you with is journaling and now I want to have you bless them with that habit. I want to take them to a much deeper abiding in Me. I want them to learn to hear My voice. Thank You, Randy, for obeying my recent instruction to listen to Julia.

Randy, another reason I want You to hear my voice is because I want You and Mark Virkler to be in covenant relationship with one another. REST: I went to bed around 11:00 pm exhausted, fell asleep immediately, and woke up around 4:35 am to use the bathroom. When I came back to bed, I listened to my entire iTunes playlist for Day #17, including a worship song, Proverbs 17, Acts 17, I Bless You, TPPH 17, TPPP 17, and TPPW 17.

Maui got me up at 5:25 am. After feeding her and letting her outside briefly, I came to my Sacred Place (sunroom) to journal using my brand new “Sacred Time, Sacred Place: A Journal” for the first time. This was an UNCOMMON gift I received in the mail from Bruce (Cook) yesterday. The mail lady managed to deliver our mail despite the 4-5″ of new snow.

In his email to me dated December 15, Bruce wrote “BE expecting a powerful surprise this week! Just remember, in business it’s not always about whether you know someone. Often it Is about value that was created, or trust that leads to action.”

I began my quiet time in my Sacred Place by reading Patricia King’s introduction to her “Sacred Time, Sacred Place” journal. I happened to open to a page that said “In Memory of Oral Roberts!” That immediately grabbed my attention. Then I read the key scripture – Song of Solomon 2:14

O My dove, in the clefts of the rock,
In the secret pace of the steep pathway,
Let me see your form, let me hear your voice;
For your voice is sweet, and your form is lovely.

Next, I read “A Divine Appointment With Oral Roberts.” Patricia wrote,

“Three months before Dr. Oral Roberts went to be with the Lord, I had the privilege of being with him in his home. Prior to his departure to glory, he invited a number of ministers from around the world into his private quarters to pray over them. During this time he allowed each to ask a question. I desired to know how he had maintained his devotion time in the midst of many years of leading large mandates and assignments from the Lord. Another guest asked the question before it was my turn and I will never forget his answer.

He called his daily time with the Lord his Sacred Time. He explained that when he went into his prayer closet no one was allowed to interrupt him – including his wife and children. Everyone in his family and ministry respected this sacred time – his time alone with God. No phone calls, no visits, no questions, and today we could say, no internet! He informed us that when God spoke to him in his Sacred Time, he obeyed immediately. He stated, “God never had to speak twice to me. When he spoke, I obeyed.” He pursued the Lord with an undivided heart and with full belief that God would speak with him just as He spoke with Moses – face-to-face as a man speaks to his friend.

The enormous fruitfulness of Dr. Oral Roberts’ worldwide ministry was clearly a result of the God encounters and visitation of grace he experienced in his uninterrupted and undisturbed Sacred Time and Sacred Place.”

Next I read “How To Have A Fruitful Devotional Time With Jesus!” This was so good. I especially liked Patricia’s simple teaching about “What to do in a devotional time?” One of the things that jumped out at me was this, “Make a list of things that distract. Somethings in the midst of your devotion time you might receive some distracting thoughts such as, “Oh, I better remember to pay that bill later and email a friend.” Keep a small notepad available, and write those things down so you do not have to think on them again until after your devotion time is over.”

Finally, I read her “One Year Bible Reading Plan.” The Holy Spirit then prompted me to start with Day #1, so I read out loud Genesis 1-2 and Matthew 1 in the Maxwell Leadership Bible declaring and decreeing God’s Word. As I read John Maxwell’s introduction to Genesis, I realized the book of Genesis has 50 chapters. The number 50 is very significant. As I read these 3 chapters in the Bible, these scriptures stood out

Genesis 2:24-25 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Matthew 1:18-25 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.

Joseph heard God and obeyed.

I then hand wrote this very first two-way prayer in my “Sacred Time, Sacred Place” journal.

Wow Jesus! My spirit is jumping for joy. Thank you for laying out the entire sequence of steps that were necessary to lead Bruce to sow this UNCOMMON seed – Sacred Time, Sacred Place: A Journal” into my life. Thank You for this morning’s rich abiding time. To You, I give all glory, honor, and praise. Blessed be Your holy name.

Thank You Joseph for your obedience. Your past has not been wasted. Your choices and decisions have led you to this turning point. Today, I lay before you life and death, blessings, and curses. Therefore, CHOOSE LIFE. Choose Me. What you were missing was your Sacred Place. Even your Sacred Time was not sacred. Today you begin a new life in Me, with Me, and through Me. Today you move from the natural to the SUPERNATURAL.

Delight yourself in Me and I will give you the desires of your heart. What are your desires?

Thank you for asking Jesus!

Jesus, my spirit is jumping for joy this morning. I am so excited about the new revelations you are downloading to my spirit. I feel strongly I am on the verge of a major breakthrough. I’m ready to receive from you. The student is ready and You are the MASTER. Teach me what I need to know today. Bless me with Your wisdom and understanding. You are wisdom. You are Understanding. Those are two of the seven spirits of God.

The Story Behind The Story is THE KEY to successful and highly prolific webinars. Everyone has a story. According to the TMCJ flash header, “Every person … every family … every community… every culture… every nation … needs THE STORY.” People can argue with your doctrine. People can argue with your religion and personal views. But no one can argue with your story.

Revelations 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

You see, Joseph, someone’s testimony, their story, is on par with My blood. Today, I AM giving you the final number to unlock the combination lock to your sweet spot.

Your forte is webinars. And “The Story Behind The Story” is your forte webinar. And when people ask what you do, tell them “I help people share their stories with the world with webinars!” That is UNIQUELY YOU. You’re the only one in the world who has been called to do that and teach others to do likewise. To be prolific in the marketplace, whatever you do must be duplicable. If it requires you, then it will not be able to be franchised. Will Green will prosper greatly when he does webinars allowing famous people he knows to share their story.

The very first thing I wrote down was “Complete everything associated with my journaling e-book, including 1) Revise my free e-book, 2) Create 11 auto-responders, 3) Narrate book, 4) PRESS release. This will create substantial residual income for Julia and leave a tremendous legacy.”

While it took me about 10 months to finally set aside the time to complete this, I never forgot what I wrote in my journal. As a result, on February 1, 2010, I launched my 30 Days To Breakthrough free e-course. In my opinion, this will be the greatest legacy I ever leave.

I had about 90 people sign up for that course during February, the first month it was available. One of my favorite stories of a changed life is Abigail Slocum.

UNCOMMON Journaling is the key

The very first thing I wrote down was “Complete everything associated with my journaling e-book, including 1) Revise my free e-book, 2) Create 11 auto-responders, 3) Narrate book, 4) PRESS release. This will create substantial residual income for Julia and leave a tremendous legacy.”

While it took me about 10 months to finally set aside the time to complete this, I never forgot what I wrote in my journal. As a result, on February 1, 2010, I launched my 30 Days To Breakthrough free e-course. In my opinion, this will be the greatest legacy I ever leave.

I had about 90 people sign up for that course during February, the first month it was available. Abigail Slocum [http://abigail777.com] was one of those. However, she found herself distracted with life circumstances and never completed that to her satisfaction.

So on June 1, 2010, Abigail decided to repeat the course, but his time she purposed to journal every day and to post her answers from the Lord on her blog. And she has been faithful to do that. This morning, as I read her answer to the Day #11 question, I was so stirred in my spirit that I decided to write this post with links to all of Abigail’s answers to bless my followers around the world.

REST: I went to bed at 10:15 pm exhausted after doing my webinar and then watching TBN for 45 minutes. I got up at 6:50 am after hearing the LORD say clearly several times WRITE THE VISION DOWN, which is what Brian Houston told his Hillsong church audience during his sermon on TBN last night.

WRITE THE VISION DOWN.

Hab 2:2 Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.“

THE VISION is to start a mass movement of Kingdom-minded webinars to reach the world for Jesus. Encourage each person you host at Webinars 777 to start their own weekly webinars. That is what Judi and the TRIBE of 12 women are to do. Encourage everyone you host on a webinar to do likewise. As the “Queen of Webinars,” Carrie Stone is to assemble a team of people to host, record, and edit webinars. She is to be paid well to do this. This will form tribe and tribe after tribe. This will create disciples. This will result in extraordinary multiplication. Taste and see that I AM good. I AM doing a new work.

• Tell Jerry the message for him is TEACHING SELLS. He is to start his own weekly series of webinars interviewing experts.
• Post the Chase The Lion series on the Empower 2000 blog.
• Call Robert Ricciardelli to ask for help marketing the Thursday webinar
• Ask for help from my Christian Twitter friends for help marketing this webinar . This is something a virtual assistant can help you with.
• Holy Spirit idea: In the future, ask people to make a donation of at least $1 (for Haiti) to watch the webinars.

REST: I went to bed at 8:40 pm immediately after Julia and I got back from the Kelly Godfrey’s wedding and reception in Charlottesville. I woke up around 3 am and lay in bed resting and reflecting before getting up at 3:25 am.

The words I heard from the LORD while lying in bed were “You are a TRANSFORMATION SPECIALIST. You are a SEER, able to see into the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm is more real than the natural realm.” I realized how extraordinary it was that I was seated at the table with two of the six Culpeper Hospital Board members, including the Chairman, Dr. Karl Beier, Peter Godfrey’s OB/GYN partner. The Lord instructed me, “Meet early this next week with Dr. Tom Reynolds and Dr. Karl Beier to request the opportunity to step in for 100 days as a Hospital Transformation Specialist. It’s the spiritual climate at Culpeper Hospital that needs change.”

Holy Spirit guidance

When I got up at 3:25 am, I immediately came downstairs. After letting Maui outside to pee and giving her a treat, I immediately came to my computer in the basement to journal. However, my computer screen message prompted me to first reboot the computer to complete an update done yesterday. After doing that, my computer advised me to update my version of Firefox and AVG for security purposes. After doing that, I discovered that AVG offers an Identity Theft option for $19.99. Because Firefox installed two new icons on my desktop, I went to Windows Explorer to move those elsewhere to keep my computer desktop clean. In this process, the PowerPoint sent by Dr. Bruce Cook jumped out at me – “Transforming Community Health Care” by David MacDonald, DO, Liberty Health Group. The Holy Spirit told me, “Contact Dr. David MacDonald on Monday March 15 and meet with him early this week. Ask to do a presentation with him to the Culpeper Regional Hospital Board.“

You are a PROPHETIC DESTINY COACH with the gift of Activation like Dr. Bruce Cook.

Day 15 – The 10-10-80 Principle
Lord, how can I do a better job giving and saving?

Joseph, if you had asked Me this question yesterday, you would not have received the answer. But yesterday, I unlocked your future with My key to your destiny. You will do a great job giving and saving by functioning in your role as a COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION SPECIALIST and placing a high dollar value on your time and expertise. Hospitals are a symbol of the health of a community. As I use you to transform hospitals and community health care, I will transform communities. Your $300,000 seed on June 30, 2005 was sown into fertile ground to transform healthcare around the world. I do not forget. I AM a Blesser of obedience. Your extraordinary faith and obedience will be rewarded in extraordinary ways. Taste and see that I AM good. I AM the great I AM. Before Abraham was, I AM.

Later, while doing pushups, situps, and squats, I listened to Robert and Robin Kochis’ CD “Shepherd Me O God.” The words in the third song “Open My Eyes” particularly struck home with me. Robert and Robin a born-again Catholic couple that sing songs that have been a tremendous blessings to me over the past 7 years.
